PROJECT ARCHITECT

STUDIO LOCATION: WASHINGTON, DC
We are a small architecture firm seeking an energetic Project Architect for our interior architecture studio. Successful candidates will hold a BSAS, BArch, or MArch degree. Tasks include leading the design process from schematic design through construction administration while leading and mentoring Jr. teammates. Candidates should be comfortable overseeing and coordinating construction document preparation. Revit modeling skills are required. Candidates should be comfortable reviewing budgets and creating project schedules. Applicants should enjoy working in small teams and completing work under tight deadlines. This position is full-time with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience. Please submit a cover letter and work samples for evaluation.
 
Our Ideal Candidate:
• Has completed AXP and is in progress towards licensure or holds a license to practice architecture.
• Has a minimum of eight (8) years experience and demonstrates an understanding of commercial interiors.
• Experience leading projects that are at least 30,000 SF in size.

ASSOCIATE DESIGNER

STUDIO LOCATION:   WASHINGTON, DC or ANNAPOLIS, MD
Alliance is currently accepting designer applications for a position in our Washington, DC or Annapolis, MD office location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work as part of the design team for project concept and delivery (interiors and base building)
• Produce renderings, illustrations, and construction documents to support the design concept
• Display passion and an innovative approach to design that combines collaboration, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills.
• Work with team on multiple, complex projects through all phases from proposal through construction.

REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, interior design, or related design field
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience with interiors
• Basic understanding of all phases of design and construction
• Basic understanding of construction documents and building systems
• Basic understanding and experience with construction administration
• Strong technical background that includes high level of attention to detail
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD throughout all project phases
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Eager to learn and share design ideas with teammates
• Ability to manage multiple tasks for several projects and clients simultaneously
• Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills

DESIRED:
• 3 years of experience
• Knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements
• Experience in coordinating and collaborating with consultants (MEP, Structural, AV, etc)
• Demonstrated experience with base building projects as well as interiors
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop
