Pendo wins “Best Interior Project” at the TCREW Champions Awards 2023
At the Triangle CREW 2023 Champion Award, Pendo was awarded “Best Interior Project”
Pendo is a home-grown success story not just for Raleigh, but for the entire state of NC. Valued as a unicorn, the technology company consciously elected to start and grow here. Occupying top 4 floors at Raleigh Crossings, Pendo’s HQ exemplifies excellence in aesthetics and functionality of its space. Pendo looked to Alliance Architecture to develop a dynamic, culture driven workplace, that reflects its ethos and provides inspiring workplace environment.
The design team was able to influence the shell building making a four-story connecting stair the heart of the project. Movement between floors by stair is encouraged and adjacent coffee areas enable a quick break after chance encounters. These types of spontaneous collisions choreographed throughout the space foster interaction and create memorable experiences.
Top floor serves as the main entry point for visitors and all things congregation for employees. It is a dynamic floor buzzing with activity throughout the day. It features an outdoor terrace overlooking the city with a firepit and full outdoor grill. Use of full height folding doors enables seamless integration allowing indoor-outdoor experiences. Pendo partnered with chef Ashley Christensen to curate a food experience that is local and fun. A ceramic pizza oven is a showcase element that everyone gravitates to. Local breweries are well represented on multiple taps. Lunchtime acts as a means of bringing the whole company together every day.
The center of the floorplate has a two-story auditorium serving as all-hands meeting area. This is where all big announcements are made, celebrations are held and the firm gathers for the World Cup, NCAA Tournament and more. Numerous sightlines across make it an active and functional centerpiece. Daylight is a shared resource. All workstations and meeting areas (there are no offices) are held off the window line. The perimeter becomes a great place to stroll or hold a walking conference call while taking in the 360-degree views.
A signature place within the project, hidden behind a mock library wall, is a speakeasy. It is conscious departure from the bright open spaces found throughout. Furnished locally by some creative antiquing, the indoor fireplace, heavy drapes and dark wood transport you from work to chill time.
Pendo’s HQ reflects its culture – open and transparent. Its physical environment serves as a reminder for employees of these values, as well as for potential job seekers.
